Acclaimed songstress Julia Haltigan embodies New York. She grew up in the gritty Lower East Side of NYC in the ‘90s. Coming from an eclectic family of classic New York personalities working as taxi drivers, soho artists, musicians and even a jailbird or two, Julia emerged from it all a sensitive badass who rides vintage Triumph motorcycles and sings with smoldering expressivity. 

Julia has written and released several records under her name, the latest being titled TROUBLE, in which she considered her surroundings and penned the quintessential Julia Haltigan New York music statement. TROUBLE is a collection of songs that pay tribute to the street-tough poetics and gritty rock n’ roll of Big Apple icons like Television, Blondie, Suicide and Lou Reed. Produced by native New Yorker Andrew Raposo with one track produced by TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek, the collection of songs captures this vibe with an artist-in-her-natural-habitat panache. 

Lately she’s been working on a new project called MOON RADIO, showcasing her dreamier vocal stylings. This band is a collaboration with Yusuke Yamamoto on vibraphone and synth and features songs that float through futurism with a dusting of nostalgia. Their debut record will be hitting the airwaves soon.

Julia has toured extensively through the US and performing frequently at iconic venues throughout New York City (The Sultan Room, Union Pool, Bowery Ballroom). At the start of her career ASCAP featured Julia as an up-and-coming artist by inviting her to perform in their showcase at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Julia has shared the stage with such venerated names as Jack Antonoff, Norah Jones, Shannon Shaw, Nicole Atkins, The Waterboys, Judy Collins, Cherie Curry, Steve Earle and and has had the honor of performing live on taste making radio personality Vin Scelsa's show Idiot's Delight on WFUV.

Many of her songs have seen TV + Film placements in shows such as Bloodline and Rebel. She made a performance cameo in HBO’s hit series The Deuce and has been a featured artist on Discovery Chanel’s cult motorcycle show Cafe Racer. She’s appeared on David Letterman singing with Justin Townes Earle and on the Wendy Williams show singing with Big Freedia. She has a side project band with friends Scarlett Johansson, Kendra Morris and Holly Miranda, produced by Dave Sitek, reviving the classic sounds of New Wave era dance hits. Julia has moonlighted as the slinky Jessica Rabbit-inspired jazz crooner “Vivian Fairchild” in the hit show Sleep No More since the show exploded onto the scene and launched the immersive theater movement. Recently she has stepped into the world of film acting by playing a role in a new upcoming film by director Alonso Ruizpalacios, due to be released in 2023. Naturally her love for music and film has lead her to music supervise several projects including the action packed documentary Once Upon A Time In Uganda by director Cathryne Czubek, which took home the Grand Jury Prize at DOCNYC fest.
